Spyder gtr headlights problem

I bought the spyder gtr style headlights probably 6 months ago and just yesterday I noticed on the drivers side the fancy part that also uses the turn signal light works, I don't know if there's a name for that part. But the 2 bulbs below don't. Brights work fine. I found a picture of some headlights they might for a 2 door I don't know but I circled the part that's not working. Is it a bulb? Loose connection? I'm not real familiar with electronics or headlights.

KEEP IN MIND I AM ONLY GUESSING HERE AS I AM NOT FAMILIAR WITH THESE UNITS!!!:

From what I can surmise, the circled part in your photo is for the hi-beam headlights. OEM headlights use the same projector for LO & HI beams. It seems these things separate the beams to different projectors.

Also, it appears that these units use Halogen bulbs for the hi-beams as opposed to the Xenon bulbs for the HID lo-beam. Halogen bulbs typically have a shorter life than Xenon's.

Here's what I found:

It never hurts to check the bulbs. But, if that still does not solve the problem, I would contact the vendor you purchased them from and/or the mechanic who installed them (unless self-installed) and see what they advise. There may still be a warranty in force.

Again, I'm flying blind here. Hope some of this helps.

I did install myself. Come to think of it when I first got them the drivers side would flicker when I hit a bump in the road. I wonder if whatever connection was loose came completely out. I tried hitting the light and moving it around as much as possible without completely pulling it out, didn't come back on.

Could be a bulb issue. Could be a wiring issue. Best advice, pull the unit out and start checking.

Two outside projectors are for low beam ( HID D2S bulb ) Yes, two projectors for one bulb. Inside projector is for high beam and use halogen bulb. You have problem with HID bulb, ballast, connection ....

I finally pulled the headlight out. Didn't see any bad connections or loose wires or exposed wires. Ordered a new bulb for the hell of it. If that doesn't work I'll contact the manufacturer.

Does the low beam use the OEM ballast and OEM connector? If so, hopefully a new bulb fixes it. Use the OEM 85122+ for reliability.
If you continue to have low beam issues, and the low beam system is OEM, you'll need to look deeper and make sure the OEM stuff is correctly installed.

BTW, how do you like the output of these lights? Are they as good as stock for low beam?

I know it uses the oem ballast, I'm not sure about connector. It's been a while since I installed them, I know I didn't have to do any wiring. As far as being better than oem lights I just figured out how to adjust the projector direction yesterday so when I get the light fixed I'll let you know. They are pointed too far down right now.

Well I haven't figured it out so I called spyder and they said take up the warranty with the vendor. So after a few back and forth emails with carid.com they are going to look into and I should expect a solution in 3 to 5 days.

Well spyder never answered carid so I never got a replacement from either. The only thing I could find by looking at was part of the bulb socket that goes into the headlight was broke off. So the bulb itself wasn't sealed right but the wire connection appeared fine so you'd think it would work still. Anyway I crashed my g37 on the highway back in February and both headlights were smashed anyway. Front body was pretty smashed, I could have driven it home if it wasn't stuck still ran fine. Ended up selling to a friend and getting an 09 SRT8 charger.

From: Garland,Texas, you know, the place they mention at the beginning of Zombieland.
Spyder headlights

It looks like Spyder may have addressed this issue. These aren’t available at the moment. All current orders for these lights are preorders that will not ship until Aug. and according to the description, they now use Xenon bulbs.
