Sticky Dash!
My 2011's dashboard just started getting sticky in two areas. Is cracking the next phase?
- Doesn't seem like any one method works to stop the cracking.
- What products will slow this down?

Almost 2 years now. I put it on all of the rubber seals on the doors also. Just make sure to get a warm towel clean up the surface really well, then spray some 303 on a dry towel or a microfiber circular pad. Apply it and then let it sit for a good 20-40min then grab a clean microfiber and buff it and it will leave a darker matte finish.
I believe
is what most guys use/recommend.
You can't stop the stickiness.
It's like cancer, you can throw money at it all you want, but there is no way to compare A/B and see if that money actually prolonged the inevitable.
The dash becomes sticky because there are chemicals missing from it, due to EPA regulations, that would have given the dash long-term stability.
Sticky dash affects many Japanese cars from the early 2000's of all brands because they all had to comply with environmental regs.
Throw 303 on it if you want. I'd rather buy fireworks.
It sucks. Only a matter of time on my 2014. I plan to go old-school mid-90's on it and tweed the dash when it begins to deteriorate. The old Z32 300ZX has a partially tweeded dash, I think it looks good.

I use it on my boat to protect the vinyl from intense UV. Everyone swears by it.
Putting chemicals on the surface won't stop or slow down the chemical breakdowns occurring within the vinyl. If it makes it look better, that's a win. But I have seen that the next step is cracking.
