G37 coupe rear seat cushion/bottom removal

Hello,

Well, my '09 G Coupe is starting to give me goofy fuel gauge readings and I found videos for the fix. If I am to access the fuel tank sending units I need to remove the rear seat cushions/bottoms. From the only decent video I've seen you simply lift on the seat cushions. However either the latches are REALLY in there or I'm not yanking hard enough. Any advice is appreciated, the link I am referring to is here
at the 3:40 mark is where it talks about the rear cushions. Do I need to remove the seatback to remove the rear cushion? Doesn't look like I do or at least not to get the seat cushions unlatched.. HELP!! :-)

The first time is always the tightest (insert pun here).
I found it is best to:
1) get in the back seat;
2) stand up (as best you can);
3) grip the seat bottom as follows:

Zzz

4) PULL straight up (for dear life).
The clips will pop free and don't worry, you won't break anything. In my case, once the driver side popped loose the passenger side gave no resistance.

Again, the first time is always the hardest- after that the seat will pop up 1-2-3.

And, no. You do not have to remove the seat back to remove the seat bottom.

Good luck!

I had to pop mine loose with a pry bar and it sounded like a gunshot when it finally came loose. I thought I'd destroyed everything underneath but it was all good. Still scared the crap out of me when it popped.

Duh, why didn't I think of that! S'pose I could cover the end of the bar with tape or a towel or something to prevent it from digging into the foam too much. Thanks for the tip!!
