Interior trim kick panels not flush? Check this out.

Depending on the model year you have this may or may not be an issue for you. My '08 kick trim panels would get pushed back when the front seats were slid all the way forward. On older models that trim panel is two separate pieces where the vinyl/leather/whatever is attached by adhesive to a plastic backing. I purchased a pair of kick panels from a 2012 model after I discovered that the part had been updated to be one solid piece. After installing them I noticed a big difference but also that they still did not fit flush 100%. So seeing as I just ripped apart my interior trim (Tesla Screen in CF and CF trim going in soon), I decided to take a look at what the tabs on the trim pieces could be anchored to. The "female" tabs had no "male" tabs to snap into place. So I decided to use one of the best inventions ever made; zip ties. I attached zip ties from those "female" tabs to in the middle where what I think is one of the ashtray mounts. When you attach these be sure to not pull the zip ties too tight as I broke one of the tabs on the passenger side. To fix that I simply routed the zip tie at an upward angle versus pulling straight from the side of it.

For a video of the panel differences, check out my IG: jpowers36.

Driver side.

Passenger side (where I broke the tab and routed it upward).

Closer look at broken tab but angled up so it still works.

Driver side closer look.

Cheers guys!
