Aftermarket Headlights Problem

I got some AKKON headlights for my 2010 G37 coupe and after installation they shortly started being very finicky, where the passanger LED strip wouldnt turn on at first without repeatedly flipping the lights on and off, and now it will only turn on once in a blue moon. Anyone else have this problem or a suggested solution?

No issues with my Akkons. Not a lot of miles on them tho.

Akkon headlights not working

I purchased a set of these headlights from Amazon. I had the same problem. my passenger side low beams would turn on sporadically. I attempted to return the headlights to Amazon. When I seen that I would only get a 50% return I decided to give them a retry. I went through every headlight terminal with a multimeter verifying voltage and connectivity. when I established that there was nothing wrong with the car I went down to the local parts store picked up some connector cleaner an electric grease. I treated both headlight connectors with a liberal amount of connector cleaner, then place them in a grocery store bag filled with rice (tapedotaped the bag over the connector for a good deal). I didn't post a liberal amount of electrical grease on the male connector attached to the headlight. therein I found the solution to the problem. Once I reinstalled the bumper me and the wife took the car for a test drive (proverbial knock on the wood), and that resolved the problem. I have uploaded a diagram of the two connectors with corresponding wire colors and voltage. Good luck!

Same here.

Did you manage to find a solution to the problem? I’m in the same boat. The lights look great but sadly are hardly usable at night since the right one almost never works.

Hi I have the same headlights and iam trying to tap into the led strip so I can run my emblem to the DRL strip. I originally tapped into the red wire o the connector but unfortunately the emblem only turns on when the entire light is on.
do you know by any chance which wire on the headlight side powers the led strip? And they color please Thank you

Assuming the LED strip you are referring to is the DRL light, based on the diagram provided by member John Baggins, it seems you should have tapped into the PINK wire (passenger-side), NOT the RED wire.

The issue is I don’t see a pink wire. The only wire that looks like is positive is red. So Iam now confused because how is the DRL strip getting power when the main bulbs are turned off. There has to be a separate wire that powers the led strip,I just can’t figure it out.anyone that has an idea please help I would appreciate it.

What side are you looking at? Driver or Passenger?

What year/ model is your car, specifically?

Is there a ORANGE wire? Again, based off the above diagram.

Again, what YEAR/MODEL is your car? This makes a big difference when comparing the OEM wiring diagrams...

I have a 2015 q60s (g37 body) and no I dont see a orange wire. Just so there is no confusion I taped into the connector on the headlight side not the Connector on the harness.
