Airbag light flashing, can’t reset pulled code b1015
Hi, I have a similar problem. I have bought a used 2012 G37 Coupe with the airbag light flashing 7/1. I went to the dealership and they told me the airbag control unit is broken and told me the repair would cost around USD 2300. They also told me that the part I need to replace has code K8820JL43A. Please do you have any suggestions where is it possible to try to reset the original unit or where to find this part? If I put the code in Google it will show nearly no results. I am from Europe, Czech republic and the VIN is JN1GCBV36U0870103. I will appreciate any help. Thanks.

What i did was continue to nag the dealership service manager, and left them some bad reviews when I got a survey email. Bc I was upset this part shouldn’t breakdown, and cost is extreme. Anyway they covered 80% of the cost eventually after a few talks w the service manager. Also I bought the car at that dealer so that helped a bit.
If that hat isn’t an option or doesn’t work for you try finding the part online but speak to a mechanic first who can program the part, this is key!, and then install it. The reprogramming alone can cost a couple hundred dollars. But still should be cheaper than the 2300 you were quoted.
. That's why I would like to ask whether it can or cannot be replaced with some unit with different code (that may be the same as this one, I do not know) and whether it will require some serious programing involved or pure replacement is enough.
2012 g37x: This happened after my battery died and I tried to jump start the car unsuccessfully. Had the battery replaced under battery warranty at pep boys and then I notice the airbag light is flashing. 1 long, 7 short. I took the car back to pepboys the next day and they ran the codes on it and got a current code for b1015. Anyone else have a similar expierence or know of this issue? I tried to reset using the on off 3x procedure and pep boys tried as well unsuccessfully.
I tried searching these forums with no luck.

I have disassembled the central console and the part number of my unit is really 98820-JL43A. Since this part is nearly impossible to buy second hand, I would like to ask, what is the difference between this part and part 98820-JL00A and if it is possible to put JL00A to my car. Thank you.
For anyone, I have finally solved the problem. There are two parallel CPU's on the board and one had short circuit. The solution was to buy new CPU directly from the factory and reprogram it. It was not easy and only one ëxpert guy in my country was able to do it. It is definitely not a solution for authorized dealership but for specialized company. Bad thing is that even the CPU was approx USD 900 from Germany but still much cheaper than new unit.
Same Problem.

I have the same issue. Dealer has told me i need a new airbag control module and that it also will need 3 hours of programing to work with my car. After spending $2k for a new module, I do not understand why it would require 3 hours of programming. I can't imagine this is done on every new car on the manufacturing line.
Does anyone have some details on the programing required when you replace the main airbag module?
