Help-ruined the layer on the metal by the shifter

Help-ruined the layer on the metal by the shifter

I rubbed off the layer as shown in the picture, what can I do to resume it or make it look better? Pls give some advice

easiest solution is to vynil wrap it. 3M has many metal-like opinion.

If youre very good at finishing work, wet-sanding and buffing in the direction of the aluminium brush can Repair it... But you'll likely have to sand the entire plate to make it look good and cohesive. Lots of tedious hours of unidirectional sanding

I don't think it's a brushed finish. It looks more like something that's painted over the top of the bare aluminum. Apparently it's supposed to resemble traditional Japanese washi paper.

While you've got that apart, is there any posaupossib of wrapping the silver trim that the PRND panel sits on?

yes if you want. I left that part unwrapped on purpose..

It’s actually not too hard so I did it myself. The vinyl wrap was bought on eBay, only 7 dollars.
