Front bumper cover and energy absorber

Well, trailer hitch and run. Uggh. Police tried to track down the truck, no luck so far...so I'm probably footing the bill for this one.

I need a new absorber and bumper cover (sedan, sport).

I've dropped the bumper plenty of times, so I'm thinking to find/order a bumper...I figured ordering infiniti OEM is the way to go (never shopped body parts before, so any advice would be great). A local shop quoted me $400 to paint it. A collision place I like and used in the past quoted me $1300 parts and labor...I'm pretty sure I can do better than that.

So any advice on places to get covers?

Thanks all!

I'd start with discountinfinitiparts.com

I needed a rear bumper cover and other work, I shopped around discountinfinitiparts.com and all the others, you might get a good price, like $350-$400, but the shipping is going to be expensive around $150-$400. I called my local Infiniti dealer and they said $540, I asked about a body shop discount, they asked what body shop he looked it up and he has an account, so they said $380 and free shipping if the body shop called and ordered it, they have a parts truck that delivers to shops. I asked the body shop that was doing the If I could get his price, he said no problem as long as I paid cash.

If I were you I would ask the body shop that quoted you $400 to paint it if you can get their discount from the local dealer If you pay cash.

Thanks Willard. Yeah, that's what I found too...shipping puts the cost up to what I can get through the dealer down the road. I'll ask about the body shop discount...that's a great idea.

Yup. I'm considering that route. Ha ha ha.

So a naive question... Should I at least replace the energy absorber? I could live with a front plate for now until I want to pony up about 1k for the fix.

I wouldn't worry about it.
