A/C Problems

Hi guys,

I'm having issues with my A/C and was wondering if anyone has an idea of what's going on.

2010 G37s Sedan
137,xxx miles

A/C is not consistent. Works alright when I'm actually driving, but when I get to a stop, it gets hot. Already recharged R134a and wasn't the issue, so I replaced a few things after googling:

1. New expansion valve and evaporator
2. Hi/lo switch

It worked for like a day after replacing those, but went to it's older ways soon after. AC temp lines with a gauge when the car was off reads 120 on the low and about 130 on the high. After turning on the car and running the AC for a little while, temp on the low side is at 45 and high side is 150.

Fans and compressor seems to be working fine. Could it be a bad expansion valve that I put in? If the car isn't on, should the low side be lower than 120? One of my friends said it could be the expansion valve is open all the way and doesn't shut, that's why I'm seeing 120 on the low when the car is off. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Normally, low and high sides are measured in units of pressure, not temperature. Look towards electronics. That's my albatross at the moment.

I know this is old thread but I was wondering if you ever figured out what the problem was? I’m having the same issue and I also have the 2010 G37S.

How does the front condenser look? Seems to me maybe it’s not cooling off enough when you aren’t moving perhaps?
