Pulling apart tail lights

Hello all,

I apologize if this has been touched on in another thread, I did some extensive searching and couldn't find anything on it. I'm attempting to install the Ghozt sequencers on my tail lights, but can't seem to get the tail lights apart. I started with the driver's side (probably a bad choice). I've cut the entire tail light just behind the lens but something is still attached to the lens and I can't tell what it is. I think it might be a seal or something by the trunk button? That is the general area where it is still stuck and when I tried to pry a little bit, the lens cracked a bit by the hole for the trunk button. Does anyone have any experience in doing this? Any help/advice is greatly appreciated. And if you have any tips for installing the Ghozt sequencers on the electronic side, I would greatly welcome that help too! Thanks all!

Apparently my search wasn't good enough! Finally found a DIY someone did for painting the tail lights that touched on how to cut around the trunk button cut out to remove the back.

Thought you had to heat the light up either with an oven or heat gun to take the cover off
