Something That Hasn't Been Done Before

Hey guys,

I was just thinking just now, has anyone tried to swap the whole dash of the G37 with like a 370Z or in this case a Q50?

I know this is just a mad dream like Frankenstein or something, but one can dream right?

I was wondering if you guys knew the dimensions of the G37 and the Q50's dash and center console? I would love to give it a try to see if this "swap" would actually work.

Thanks,
A Mad Surgeon

I dreamed a dream...but now that dream is gone from me.

It was just a crazy idea, i know; but I didn't think it would get shot down without inquiry or even the thought of entertaining the possibility of it actually happening...

I mean, is it even possible to do?

Throw a oil tanker full of cash at it and anything can be done. It is not as simple as just "swapping out the dash and center console." While the parts may fit physically (though might cause problems with the door panels and other infrastructure) getting all of the components like the gauge cluster, center stack electronics, possibly airbag, etc. to fit- and look clean- is a different story.

I won't even mention how much of a nightmare bringing the Q50/60's electronics to the G37 would bring.

But, sure, bring enough money and it can be done.

1) This is not a dream, it’s a nightmare.
2) It will not work. Stop and turn back now before wasting any money or any more of your time or thought energy.

I understand and I accept that fate. I was just wondering if there is an aftermarket kit for a duel screen set up very similar to the Q50. I mean it doesn't have to be a duel screen, I am just looking for a good aftermarket headunit that will have navigation, bluetooth call and audio streaming / android auto or apple car play. I know there's probably a preexisting thread but essentially, I was going for something of an upgraded head unit.

Hey treeclimber. Check this out. I found it in another thread here somewhere, but relevant to what you’re interested in.

You can always contact the supplier if you did like it. I’m sure they be happy to supply more information than what’s in the listing to make a sale. I’d also like to know if this would work with nav or non-nav or both.

That is an awesome suggestion and product! Thanks for that! But yeah, I am kind of skeptical about getting something from overseas and the language barrier. Looks awesome though!
