God thanks your awesome. There is standing water at the base of my battery. Gonna pull it and see whats underneath. In the meantime gonna pull that harness gromet and silicone it back. Of that doesnt cure it then culprit is drain tube gromet failure?

I have no idea. They should out of principle. Worth a check if you have any kind of warranty probably.
I wasn't the first owner, but my car has been very well taken care of with <18k miles. Only two months into my ownership when it started.
Still looks and smells new. Sucks is an understatement.

You might not have a real serious problem if there's a pool of water there. It could just be sloshing in. Through the wiring harness or somewhere else. If you clear out that drain you may fix the problem.
My wife had a 2012 mustang when we were dating and it had that issue. Water would slosh in from below the dash on the passenger side. In doing some googling, it was common on that car. She parked under trees a lot and the normal drains for water coming in at the cowl clogged with fir needles. There was a gallon reservoir of water just sitting there. Cleaned it out and problem solved. Might be similar here. Fingers crossed for ya.

My car leaked twice into the passenger footwell. both times the car was parked. I'm out of warranty so I had the pleasure too fork over way too much money for the dealer to remove the dash, seats, console and front carpet to get the water out and fix the drains.

I agree with everyone else, a very shoddy design for a quality car.

I am also having water leaking onto the passenger side floor. I poured water down the sunroof drains and watched the water starting to drip on the floor only on the passenger side. The water was still pouring out of the bottom of the car so has to be that foam seal on the grommet that mounts to the firewall. Taking my car to the dealership tomorrow in hopes that my Infiniti elite extended warranty will cover it. My G37 is a 2012.

I have the same problem. i noticed the problem is caused by the tube drain that runs from the sunroof to the back of the tire thats where the water goes when it gets in the sunfoor. The tube must have gotten disconnected to the part that drains the water out of the car. Try and take out the pillars from inside the car and u should be able to see the tube. Check if it's clogged and if the tube is loose by pulling on, if ur able to pull it then its loose and thats whats causing the leak.

It turned out to be that harness by the battery. They tired using silicone paste to help seal it but it didn't work so on monday the master techs are going to look at it.

I think your best bet would be silicone from home depot. It work for me, put on some gloves on and paste the silicone all around the grommet like i did. It looked messy but in the end nobody's going to look at it, its not visible and does the job. Thanks
Hope this helps

How easy is it to access this gromet? By chance, do you have any general steps on accessing this area?

I have a slight leak on my passenger side leaking to my mat.
