So I have an Infiniti g37x sedan with premium package. When I turn my car off and open my door, the seat moves back and steering wheel up. When I turn my car on it goes back to my seat setting. I heard somewhere that I can use my intelligent key fob to press unlock and the seat should go into my position before even entering the vehicle, but that does not happen. I already paired my fob to the seat but pressing set and 1 and then the unlock button. I was wondering if the function of the seat moving into my position when hitting unlock is real or not.

 

There are two things in play - one is the "Entry/Exit Function" which moves the seat back and steering wheel up when you put your automatic transmission into Park, and then is supposed to return to your normal seating position when you get in and start the car. That's for "ease of entry and exit".

The other thing in play is the "Seat Synchronization Function" which allows you to tie specific seat and outside mirror positions to the 1 & 2 memory buttons and to individual key fobs for two different drivers.

Either system can be cancelled or activated but the instructions are so lengthy that I'm posting the pages from a (2013) owners manual below.

I personally have the entry/exit function shut off to save the seat motors but find the memory function useful for my wife and I.
