Rear non sport caliper won't fit around rotor

Switching out my rotors and pads. Done this a handful of times on other vehicles. I can't seem to get the rear caliper in the correct position go go back on the rotor. The one not touching the piston seems to be sticking too far out

Compress the pistons back further on the calipers.

Do you need to take the caliper apart? I compressed the piston all the way back

The front pad seems to be too thick.

Are you 100% certain you have the correct rotors and pads and that the pistons are completely compressed as far as possible?

100%? Probably not. I ordered the rotors and pads from a company on these forums. Pads are posiquiets and they seem to look just likes ones I took off rotors look like ones I took off. It's just that front pad that doesn't touch the caliper, seems to be sticking out too much.

The old pads for around the new rotors. But if I replace just the front pad it won't fit. But the pad seems right, there's just more material on it since it's not worn. Anyone have thoughts?

Maybe the slide pins are seized? How freely is the caliper supposed to slide on those? If I compress it that way it'll just spring back

Compare the thickness of the old rotor to the new. They should be very close. If the new rotor is thicker, then it sounds like you got the sport rotors, which would not fit the regular calipers.

The old pad fit the new rotors. Wouldn't this lead you to believe the rotors are correct?

Your pads are not put in properly. The outside one needs to go in further. There is probably a retention clip not in place properly. Take the pads out and you can see where the rotor would sit in the caliper.
This is of course, if you are using the correct parts and not the sport brake rotors.

The outside one was flush with the backing it is against. It was not being blocked by the clips or anything

Did you ever figure out what was the problem for this? I ran into the same exact issue and am frustrated beyond all belief.

not sure what the issue is but if it where me I would remove the rotor and install the caliper back on the hub. Then try shifting the pad back over to clear. Looks like everything is shifting towards the car side and moves together as a unit.if you can get it to move towards the outside then remove it install the rotor and try the caliper again.not sure if this would help but it would be my next step to try since both pads are more closer to the car not just the outside one.
