Is it normal for the foglights to have a gap with the chrome shroud or should it sit flush?

Alternate Installation Method

So I was browsing the FSM (bored) and I came across a possible alternative fog light installation method.

It seems that one can swap the fog lights out without a bumper removal. In my case the LT CAI and the replacement WW bottle are blocking rear access.

Rochester, what do you think? You seem to take the bumper finisher off with some regularity. . It all seems held in with pawls and the 8mm nut.

Or am I way off base? I don't mind removing the bumper, I just need a second pair of hands so nothing is damaged and I don't want to wear out my welcome with those hands.

Yes the fogs can be removed from underneath by removing the under tray, I mentioned it before on Facebook groups where I posted up the group buy as well, didn't realize I didn't mention it here, or maybe I did. Either way bumper removal is not necessary at all to replace them

I need to install my TBW aluminum undercarriage cover this weekend, so I'll do both at the same time.

Thanks Mike.

The DIY did have similar instructions. I was wondering if the bumper grille snaps out if you push it from behind? Or can you pry it out from the front? My issue is getting to the back of the FL from behind due to the tube for the CAI and the reservoir.

Sean

Please ignore this post if you have a 'standerd' (that's how it's spelled in the FSM) bumper. The bumper grille only applies to a 'Sports' (ibid) bumper. In my case, I can pry off the finisher and remove the bolt from behind to remove the FL.

If you pull back the inner wheel well lining, turn the wheel inward, you can access the fogs through there. At least, thats how I remember it. I've never removed the bumper, but i have removed the fogs a number of times.

Wish I could be more solid on this, Sean, but I'm holding off on this mod until Spring.

Sean, you can simply pull the fog light chrome trim off with your hands . There is 4 tabs on that trim. Start with pressure on the 2 points on one side, then, to the other. After that, remove the fender liner plastic tab to get access to the 8 mm bolt holding in that fog. You're going to have to turn the wheels to full lock to get access to the respective side.

Once the 8mm bolt is off, you can push the fog light out from behind the bumper. On the passenger side, it gets more tricky with the windshield washer resorvior. You're going to have to do this all by feel. I highly reccomend using a small 8mm cresecent wrench to remove that bolt. You won't have room for a ratchet + 8mm on the passenger side. Any more questions, feel free to PM me.

Did anyone else have the same issue?

That sucks!!!!

Feel for ya. Mine was complete. Installed last night. You'll get it straightened out and forget about this setback when you see them installed. Good luck!!!

Thanks. Hopefully TRS can expedite the parts. I'm guessing I won't hear back from them until Monday morning at the earliest, though...

Thanks for pointing that out. Mine didn't come with the connectors either. I'll be sending them an email tonight. Thanks again!

Any chance there is still enough interest to get another promo coupon activated from TRS? I now need new fogs, since I discovered some road debris busted my OEM ones up.

This literally just happened and from what I can tell, over 30-40 people purchased them. Better find more people!
