Turn Signal Bulbs

I wanted a cleaner look in the front. I was considering replacing the stock 7443 bulbs with 7440 chrome bulbs like these:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/7440-992-Silver-Chrome-Natural-Amber-Bulb-/171018209749?hash=item27d17ac9d5
http://www.gp-thunder.net/index.php/...5-7440-ca.html

I thought of going with a 7440 bulb so that when the headlights are on, just the headlights and sidemarker lights are on and not the parking lights while still having the turn signals light up amber.

I was just wondering if anyone has any experience with this and if this will work?

Did that on my Grand Prix. Great look so you didn't have the amber bulb sitting in the headlight lens but still lit up amber for the signal. Not having the marker lights on with headlights could run you a ticket depending on where you are and if the officer feels like going there.

Here are the pics, didn't get a chance to get a daylight pic, but there is no more of that "egg yolk" from the old amber bulbs.

To the above poster. Basically the stock 7443 bulbs are dual filament bulbs meaning they turn on for both when the parking/headlights are on AND when you use the turn signals. The 7440 is the single filament equivalent to the 7443 so it only turns on for the turn signals. Plus I got the chrome bulbs so that it gets rid of the egg yolk of the stock amber bulbs so overall its a cleaner look both when the headlights are on and off.

Thanks for the explaination ! Looks very clean with the chrome turn signals. I just put an order for the bulbs to do this on my coupe.

Fairly easy mod hmm. had to remove both intakes though. Kinda dumb that you have to drive with PARKING LIGHTS on hehe.

Looks like they give off quite a bit of glare? Is much light thrown above the headlight cutoffs?
