I was pulled over for my brake light not working on my parcel shelf. I would assume that my tail lights are fine. I have been looking at the field service manual and trying to make heads or tails of it is not easy.

Has anyone had this trouble before? These are LEDs they dont burn out like your traditional bulb does, so I am confused.

Any help would be appreciated.

 

I can't help you with your specific problem but the notion that LED's don't burn out is false. They do but they just last longer. Check for fuses, use a volt meter to see if they get powered when applying the brakes. All else false, you are close to JBA Infiniti so you can have them take a look at it.

 

Check the connector under the parcel shelf.

Check for voltage, if none, then the LED board is out.

Worst case scenario, you could always buy the OEM spoiler and make use of the spoiler mounted 3rd brake light. It's a good chance to add a form and function modification if your parcel shelf 3rd brake light isn't working.
