I think DD is a good company, it wouldn't hurt them to supply a bit more information on their website though. You know, for the uneducated idiots like myself.
i can see why you would make that assumption, but also realize that DD supplies for a whole slew of cars. it'd be unrealistic of them to have every part down to the year, especially on something as easily overlooked as a picky ballast (which they did actually state, albeit not explicitly).

FWIW, when it comes to figuring out what i need to buy, i always physically look at the headlights myself. some cars use DRLs for highbeams, whereas the "bi xenon"-ness of the g37 puts high and low beams in one projector housing. websites can be tricky for exactly these reasons, and i wouldn't blame them for not having detailed diagrams

i've had great experiences with the customer service from DD, so glad that you're getting things sorted out

Now that's what I call customer service. Looking forward to install on my 08 coupe (hopefully) this weekend.

Osram owns Sylvania btw. I've just started seeing the Osram name in Lowe's or home depot as a household bulb. I've done some internet research, and people are saying that the D2S Osram CBI is the same bulb as the Sylvania D2S Silverstar.

I got mine from "headlights quick", but "the retrofit source" is also popular here. BTW, Morimoto is probably the largest US importer of Osram automotive bulbs. The bulbs I got from "headlights quick" were shipped from"the retrofit source", and Morimoto, in some way, owns "the retrofit source".

They're all a tight knit community.

I found a 15% off coupon to use at headlights quick so I bought from them.

There's 2 bulbs to choose from imho, either the osram xenarc cbi, or the osram xenarc night breaker. The cbi is whiter (5500k) while the night breakers are a little brighter, but a warmer white (4300k). Check both sites to see who has the best prices.

Some people prefer Philips bulbs. They're also tier 1, but I like the Osram better.

Here's a link to the exact bulbs I bought:

I'm on the mobile site, so hot linking isn't seamless.

I wonder how close the color would be to the DD 6000k's. I'd like my fogs and city lights to match the headlights(they're all 6000k right now).

Ordered, so I'll find out soon. ;p

Thank you.

Philips makes a nice 6000K bulb. I prefer Osram, but I also don't intend to match my color temps. My city lights are 6000K and my fog lights are 2500K (plasma yellow PIAA). I can see a slight color temp difference between them, though not sure I could get you a picture that would distinguish this difference.

if you dont mind the price (if we had a choice...) go with either the osram cbi or philps xv. both are 185 on retrofit. i went with the philps xv since they seemed brighter, visibility wise while still being white.

Went with the Osrams. Hoping the 5k is similar to the DD 6k's color-wise.

I bought 6,000K bulbs from Diode Dynamics about 1.5 years ago for my 2013 and the only issue I have had is when the outside temp drops below freezing, I might have to cycle the headlight switch to get them to turn on. This only happened twice when I first bought them in very cold weather. Other than that they have worked flawlessly.
