2009 G37 Coupe Fog light

With regards to the fog lights - the one that's above the parking light, NOT the one in the bumpers - are the stock bulbs halogens or HIDs? i.e if I bought a 6000K replacement H1 bulb, would I need the full kit (with ballast), or just the bulb? Thanks in advance

if you bought a 6000k HID bulb, you will need to wire in the ignitor and ballast. the hard part of turning the fogs into HID is running bulb wires through the rubber grommet that caps the housing. i snipped the wires on my hid bulbs, ran the wires through the two holes in the grommet and attached a quick weatherproof connection on the outer side of the housing.

Won't get much throw with LED though. The housing isn't designed for it. It will appear bright but not really be useful. I put in halogen 3K yellow bulbs in mine. They do function well in the rain, & give it a different look when on.

ah im from so cal, so it doesnt rain all too much here. yea i've read that you wont get much light output from LEDs (unless youre willing to spend extra for high output like morimotos). only reason im not sticking with halogen is i dont like the yellow. going to get white LEDs for now. thanks for the suggestions
