2012 G37 HIDeXtra Fog light install

Hi all,
After a bit of hail in Virginia my fog light cracked and the bulb busted too. I needed to replace one but decided to go with HID's on my g37 IPL coupe.

After a bit of research thanks to you guys on the forums, I decided to go with the HIDeXtra H11 6000k HID kit (HID Kits | Conversion Kits | Xenon Headlights | HIDeXtra) which was only about $60. I also purchased the TYC fog light passenger side that was busted for only $55 from amazon (

I then followed a DIY to remove the bumper here:

Then I added in the ballasts and soldered the wires in and tested the HIDs and was all set!
Gone are the old hazy yellowish white lights!

Here's the result for only $110!

Looks good! I installed 6,000k as well.

Did you use a relay wiring harness to draw power from the battery and not the factory plugs?

I believe that I bought H11 when I converted my fogs (I think...it's been awhile since I did the swap). Bulb size might depend on if you have the fogs in the headlight housing or in the bottom bumper like the picture above. Maybe someone can chime in that has their fogs in the headlight housing.

H1 in headlights and H11 for the front bumper fogs.

No matter who's HID kit you are using, make sure you are using an HID relay to prevent flickering and protect your factory electronics!

Matching is the way to go. I did it the lazy way without removing the bumber. Remove a few bottom panel bolts and fed my tiny hands through to the fogs. No relay and no flickering problems so far.
