Aftermarket headlights
Hey guys!
I get my car back tommorow and they replaced both my headlights due to the accident I was in.. Anyone know If the headlights that are not oem any good? I'm worried it's gonna have some crappy lens in there.. And a so so ballast. Anyways I'm gonna ask to keep the old headlights since it's just small cracks..
Thanks!
Cedric!

Do you have a pic or brand name of those lights? And yes, I'd definitely ask to keep the original lights, if nothing else you can sell them pretty easily for a couple hundred each or custom paint them

That's actually an aftermarket brand that has been widely used by auto body shop as requested by the insurance companies.
They work and look pretty much the same as the OEM's, but fitment MAY be an issue. So check for fitments too, even if there's a minor fitment problem, you can ask the body shop to request OEM headlights from the insurance. (but most likely, you'll have to be close to the shop to help you with that.)

Now that you brought these aftermarket sets to my attention I'm wondering if some of the parts could be bought separately from them? Would be much easier to source a bezel or shroud for a few bucks compared to buying a whole fixture, of course if they fit like crap that would nullify any savings
G/L getting this corrected Cedric.

What ive also notice is that the city lights are not on all the time.. and only come on when the lights are on.. ? and actually the passenger side high beam doesnt work and its completely messed up and there is like cardboard stuffing floating around in there. i hope i can convince the auto body shop to get them to do Oem .. i do like the clear lens since i have the Orsam CBI.
