I don't know the answer but that FSM warning about the "+/-10 degree" tolerance may be the key. I didn't even know the sensors were "directional" in that way.

I'd say go back to the body shop and explain what's happening, hopefully they can sort it out for you.

I am pretty confident that I found the problems. I am posting my findings here in case anyone else experiences similar problems. There are two important things that need to be observed when (re-)installing the sonar sensors.

A. The sonar sensors must be installed in a certan position, with a tight +/-10 degrees tolerance, as indicated in the service manual. Refer to page SN-38 on page of the N03-SN section of the Factory Service Manual.

B. Also, the two centre sensors are different than the side ones and have different part numbers. Refer to this diagram: http://parts.infinitiusa.com/nissanI...6/J253022V.jpg. You can also notice from page SN-09 that the detection pattern is different for the centre and side sensors.

I went to a nearby Infiniti dealer and look at the rear sensors of different G37 Sedan cars. They were all consistent and, for exemplification, I took photos of the sensors on one of the cars. The photos were taken from the left side to the right side of the car and I posted them below in the same order.

In the above photos, you will notice two things:

A. The small bump (dot) in the groove around he actual sensor (between the sensor and the 'collar') is located exactly at 9 o'clock for the left sensors and exactly at 3 o'clock for the right sensors. This illustrates the correct installation in the horizontal position with the +/-10 degrees tolerance.

B. The groove around the actual sensor (between the sensor and the 'collar') is deeper for the centre sensors than for the corner sensors. This clearly shows that the corner and centre sensors are different.

The following photos are of the sonar sensors on my car, as they were installed by the body shop. Look carefully and compare with the previous photos...no comments! I contacted the shop already and I am waiting for a callback to schedule an appointment to fix this problem. Will keep you updated.

You may have noticed that the body shop installed all sensors incorrectly on my car. The two left sensors are reversed and all sensors are rotated.

Also, I am wondering if the shop replaced the right-corner sensor with an OEM part or they put in a third-party component. I noticed that the MSRP price of the sensor is US $235 (2013 Infiniti G37 Sedan OEM Parts - Infiniti USA eStore), whereas the cost on the body shop invoice is CDN $174. How could I find out if the new part is OEM?

In any case, I thought I would post my findings as I think they would come in handy, especially for those of you who mod your cars and, for example, paint or replace the rear bumper. Do ensure that you re-install the sonar sensors in the correct location and position.

That's the answer. Good work on the research and thanks for sharing the info - very informative.
The body shop should fix it for you and with oem parts. Was there insurance involved? If so, contact your agent and get them on the case too. Car should be brought back "to spec" and at this point one of your important "safety features" is not functioning correctly due to an incorrect repair job.
Good luck.

Same problem

Hey, i am facing same problem on my front sonar, and i searched all the manuals and i did not find anything about the front sonar. My car is g37 conv 2010, has front and rear (factory) sonar. The previous owner disconnected the wires from the front sonars as they are getting triggered by themselves without anything on front.
I will try to check about the position as well and i will post if it worked just to adjust them
