The ring around my shifter **** stripping
My friend told me it's just the clear coat coming off is there a way I can just strip it? I kinda like the chrome I don't wanna wrap or repaint it

I used sand paper starting with 400 grit to get the clear off and leveling with 800 grit, brushing with 1500 and finishing with 2000. Looks clean especially with my titanium shift **** that has the shift pattern on it.
