Blinking foglight

I recently replaced the stock foglight bulbs with LED bulbs. Shortly after that I noticed that the driver's side bulb would blink on and off intermittently. I got it replaced under warranty (actually replaced both bulbs due to the ones I had originally being replaced by a new version). Had the dealership replace both last night (was there anyway for a free oil change), and the replacement driver's side bulb is blinking too!

The service department was closing and I wanted to get home for dinner, so I didn't have them spend any more time trying to figure it out, but the manager was saying that he thinks I might need to add a resistor since it's an LED bulb. I do also have LED turn signals, and do have resistors installed for those, but I've never heard of needing a resistor for LED fog lights. I'm more inclined to think there's a short in that wiring. Has anyone else had this issue?

Were you able to get it seated properly or did you have to replace the bulb?
