Auto-window won't work -- Tried the reset

Hey Guys,

So I just got a used 2008 G37 Coupe and the driver's side window is not working properly. The auto-window feature works when i push it down but for rolling the window up, it will take the window all the way up and then drop back down 1/3 of the way.

I did the reset numerous times and I hear a click when it happens and then I have to wait a couple seconds for it to come back online..

Maybe something is blocking the window? Where is the window sensor? I tried to see if there was dirt/stuff but there wasn't. People said it might be because of the tints and some of the tint is coming out a little near the bottom of the window. (Can't see it until the window goes all the way up).

Any suggestions? It's driving me nuts.

Its The Switch... I know there was a Re-call for 2011-2012 I have a 12 and Switched it out... yet too the dealership had to reprogram the System...
Call the dealership yet to look online to see if it pertains to earlier years.. I received a letter on mine..

Had the same issue with my 09 coupe. They ended up replacing the window motor.

That doesn't make sense. If the window is working properly otherwise (going up and down manually), why do I need to replace the motor?

Not really sure but they showed me how the window motor, before it was replaced, took a significantly longer time to open and close than the passenger side which was working. There assumption was the motor was about to die. Had it replaced under warranty not much else was said.

The window rest. Do I need to do the ECU reset? I don't eve know what that is (sorry, def. new to all of this).

It's just super annoying to have this one defect that I can't fix.

Some other places say I need to remove the panel and do a reset there or something?

It might be the tinting.. because it's a little bit off at the bottom of the window. You can only see it when the window is fully up and maybe that is obstructing it?

There isn't any warranty on the car anymore.

Not sure on any removal,

Though Tint won't do what your windows are doing, probably 95% of the G's here are tinted... mine as well ...my Switches were on recall and they replaced them it was solved but months later started again... took it back they replaced them again with a new batch and done... no more issues... sad for a 12 to have that issue... its a 1year old car... but its working... call up sewell or OC infiniti see how much the window switches are and install and program...

Good luck...

Ok will do but does that make sense? How is it the switch that is causing the window to go back down after going up?... and it works properly when manually opening or closing the window.
