i recently procured a carbon fiber trunk and upon trying to install it i noticed the passenger side fit like a glove, however the drivers side......not so much.

Not that this will make you feel any better but I've seen this kind of difference in panel gaps on my friend's brand new Jag.

UPDATE: still not perfect but closer, turns out one of the new guys at work does a lot of custom C/F stuff, his car is insane, so I'm going to have him take a look at it and see what he can make of it!

Not trying to be a jerk, and its your money...However, why would you not send this back and ask for a replacement? If the replacement also has fitment issues, I would get a refund and move on.

I know how tough it is to be excited about a new goodie and not want to hassle with a return, but I wouldn't settle.

My $0.02

remove the gas shock on the left side. it's a cf trunk.. you don't need both.

fitment is fine if you just do that. Also, adjust trunk latch and move it lower. That way the trunk will have to sit lower in order to latch/lock itself.

I have tried both off, one off, both on. nothing makes it how it should be unfortunately. I have the latch adjusted as low as it will go.
I may have to modify the latch with larger holes which is my next step.
putting weight right on the corner above the tail makes it sit right so I was thinking trunk pins "IF" it comes to that...

im a body man and painter at a local quality shop in my town. And in tampa was the paint shop manager at LOKEY nissan/infinity.
After market 99.9% of the time sucks. There are a number of things you can do but they take experience. A cf guy wont be able to help you much. Go to a GOOD local body shop and talk to the manager and he might be able to help you out.The gap isnt horrible they might be able to ream the lower hinge bolt hole to adjust it down some.

Op Call Vis again talk to (Fred) I've delt with him in the past yet he's good with his customers. I'm surprised you got that type of reply... I've had one of their hoods and was very happy with the fitment. I only delt with him but too that was about a year ago... hope he's still there... thats quite a finger gap but modifying it is a touchy situation. CF is delicate. Call up Fred see if he's still there...

Good luck
