Help hid lights installation
hid lights installation
Hey,
So I want 8000 lights on my g37 09 coupe. I dont know much about cars so I'm asking for help.
First- do g37's require hid installation or can I just replace the bulb to a bluer color?
Second- is it easy to do-it-yourself or would you recommend I get professional help. I would rather do it myself to save money but I don't want to mess anything up.
Links to related posts would help.
Thanks!
Sandhu

Your G should already have HIDs.
And you can just replace the bulb yourself. There's a really nice DIY on here on how to do it. Check out the DIY section, the DIY is stickied.

Sandhu.
8000K is WAY blue and, really, WAY ricer. I think that's what 2008G-Man is eluding to...
OEM is 4300K. Most guys here go with either 5 or 6K...and that makes a huge difference IMO
It would help to clue us in as to your ride/year...
Good Luck.

I'm not a math major but 8000 is higher (aka over) 5000. 8000 kelvin will give you almost a purple (past blue) tint and much less lumens, not to mention it will look like ****. Go with 5000k and they will be white (with no hint of blue like 6000k) and offer the best lumens in that kelvin range.

Thanks I will stick with either 5 or 6k. You were great help
Thanks 2008G-Man, I think I will go with 6k. I am looking for a bit of a blue tint. I have a black on black. I think it will look nice. Unless I can find something between 5 and 6.
