Seat too tight?

Just bought 2013 G37x sedan (w/o sports package). Had not noticed during test drives (busy attending to other things), but am now finding the driver seat too right. The sides seem to come up in a way that presses on my thighs. No, I'm not terribly obese (not that I couldn't lose a few...). Others have similar experience? Does the seat 'relax' after some time? Is there any other fix?

thanks

if you don't have the "S" seats then the only option is Jenny Craig. Some people do complain about the "S" seats and there are some things you can do to alleviate their tightness.

first time hearing the complaint. the seats on the S have metal braces that are actually behind the bolsters in the seat, alongside the thighs. the regular non-sport seats however, are comfortable as can be! they do tend to relax over time though. you'll get used to it. they're comfortable!

I find this problem in my S seats, but not on the non-S. The coupe seats are a lot more comfortable. I, too am no fatty nor particularly large in stature so I'm surprised by this but it is what it is.

Guess I'll just get used to it....

Or maybe get a cushion that would make a wider surface. Not pretty, but hey, it's my ***...

It took me a while, too, to appreciate the added support in the Sport Seats. For the first few months, I had the thigh and side bolsters extended outward as far as they could go. But after a while, I found myself bringing them back in as I started to appreciate the value of secure seating. Go figure.

The non-sport seats, though... yeah, they are extremely comfortable and cushy, so the OP's problem is just a matter of familiarity. He'll be fine after a while.

Actually my biggest complaint about our seats is the lack of arch to the back. I hope the next gen fixes that. By contrast, BMW seats are excellent.

Really comes in handy while you're waiting for the tow truck

I'll keep it short to keep the threadjack to a minimum~
02 745Li, beautiful car w/ every whistle known to man, it was out of warranty so the following were needed not too long after delivery:
front control arms/bushings, transmission started to fail (the dreaded "wind-up, then clunk" as it was coasting down), front seat belt tensioner failure, trunk lift would automatically lift trunk (even when driving) and then wouldn't lift but about 3", front lights would go off intermittantly, and a questionable master control module. All this after BMW gave it a clean bill of health prior to sale
Total to repair or replace all items was around $18,000

But the seats were comfortable as hell

Damn-n-n, Newt. You were driving a 745i?

While the car is long gone, I bet you can still see the tire impressions in your driveway.
