what are everyone's opinions on removing some/all of the badges and emblems on the rear of the G? just curious what other people's thoughts are on it.

IMHO .... no, I'm proud I own an Infiniti. No need to take badging off. A lot of people do debadge though.

I feel the same way. Although I'm actually in between. I've seen some Gs with the INFINITI lettering removed and they look great, and I was about to do it. But some reason I can't get myself to actually do it...

Nothing wrong with debadging though, it's all about your taste.

I don't think it has anything to do with pride for what you drive. The only pride they need is your $45,000. Once your car is slowly transformed to the way you want it, i'd say it's reasonable not to give infiniti as much credit.

Anyways, whole point is, debadge it if you like the look, not if other people like the look.

Or look at it from a businessy point of view: why should you advertise their brand for free after you just paid for the car? I hear some dealers pay you 50 bux a month to wear their decal.

it's all personal preference. it's not a matter of being proud to own a brand of car.

i personally am extremely proud to own my G, but i just think it looks cleaner without the rear badging....so i removed it all.

it's just all personal preference......plain and simple.

Personally..If its a white g37 I would remove everything except the infiniti logo and make the logo black. If it's a black g37 EVERYTHING debadged from the back. Any other color..I personally would debadge, you choice to keep the infiniti logo or debadge everything

ya i was thinking that could happen...i've seen it before. i debadged my g35 years ago, and my only regret about that was it left a lovely shadow of 'g35' on the corner. eventually went away, but at first i thought i made a big mistake lol

I have an IPL that and I've been thinking about taking off all the badges except the IPL one. I'm hesitant though since it's not very easily a reversible decision. Also I'm thinking that if you're going to take off badges then maybe you should just go all in...

ya, there isn't much distinguishing an IPL besides the IPL badge...and about 2hp lol. i'd keep it on there, but then again, that's the same thing as saying i'd keep the S on my g, since it's a sport model. maybe just go all in and take it all off?

you could always just buy new badges, they don't cost too much. IFF you regret debadging that much

Absolutely yes! It looks so much cleaner without all the emblems. At first I took everything off the trunk lid except for the Infiniti logo, but after having the car for a while I noticed that a lot of road grime and debris gets stuck on the paint in between the openings of the logo. I got tired of having to used a small toothbrush to clean in between the logo so I just took the logo off too. No regrets...Much easier to clean/wax and it's always fun when someone comes up to me and says, "Wow what kind of car is that???" lol

Here's a pic...

At the very least the infiniti lettering has to go. For me I like my rear to look symmetrical..so I took off both the infiniti and g37s badge. If you hand wash your car it makes washing the rear so much easier without the emblems. Do what you think looks the best. Also if you want it back on you can put it back on. You don't need to buy new emblems.

i have to say the rear does look clean debadged...dr.pat did you have an issue with the grime and residue showing up a lot more since your car is white?
