Xenon Headlight failed in 6 months

Sorry for such a basic question, but is it 'normal' for a xenon headlamp to go in 6 months? Having a dispute with the dealer. 2011 G37x.

Thanks in advance for any insight/thoughts.

For the OEM ones that came equipped with the car, no that's not normal. They should last much longer. But it's a light bulb. Sometimes they fail. It is not covered by warranty.

May have just been defective from the beginning. Dealer should replace it no questions asked.

either way. You can find the bulbs on the internet for cheap.

I'd also replace them in pairs or the color of the light may not match.

normally they last much longer, but they are not covered under warranty. a new set will cost you at most $45.00. Is it worth raising hell over a light bulb? Pick your battles.
