What's a good darkness for tail lights?

What's the max amount of darkness you should when blacking out your tail lights? Wonder what's safe and not safe. Pictures would be great if you have any

Did u actually tint the whole light??? Mine is not. I have a circle on it so red still shining trough. But even so, with led light that we have on our car 4 coat should be fine. To check, during day light, turn your light on and emergency blinker... Step back from the car about 2 cars away .. If you can see the light then you'll be ok

so when you see some tail lights on the street completely blacked out basically to where you cant see the brake lights when u step on them how many coats do you think that is?
