What's a good darkness for tail lights?

What's the max amount of darkness you should when blacking out your tail lights? Wonder what's safe and not safe. Pictures would be great if you have any

Does anyone have any pictures of their car/ tail lights?

Did u actually tint the whole light??? Mine is not. I have a circle on it so red still shining trough. But even so, with led light that we have on our car 4 coat should be fine. To check, during day light, turn your light on and emergency blinker... Step back from the car about 2 cars away .. If you can see the light then you'll be ok
