I turned off my car, turned on headlights and I hear a clicking noise every time I turn them on. Tried searching, didn't find anything but this has not happened with any other cars I've ever used.

Not sure if it's normal because it's a used car. Anyone else hearing this sound when turning them on? Sounds kind of like a loud pop or a click. Can't hear it over the engine but if the windows are open and the engine is off I can hear it when I turn them on.

I do not have the AFS lights.

 

yeh i hear that same noise i also have a preowned. 08, noticed it a lil while after i got it, hope its nothing bad, that was like 6 months ago

 

well at least we're not alone.

 

One guess would be that you are hearing the headlight relay click when you are turning your headlights on/off. Open the hood, and with the engine off, try to locate where the click is coming from.

If you have HID lights you sometimes hear a "pop" sound from the ignitor/ballast when they first turn on.

 

Do you have the adaptive headlights. The ones that turn when you turn the wheel. These can click when you turn on the lights

 

It can click when the high beam turns on too

 

the click from the highbeam is the shutter moving up and down

OP, are you sure the clicking is coming from the headlight? and not just metal cooling off? sometimes ill hear a pinging sound from under the car after i shut it off
