Im in the process of blacking out my grille to the midnight black color...
Doing it myself of course but I couldnt seem to find the right color for it.
And no thanks to plastidip.

On second thought though, how about an opinion on color coordinating it the same color as the under grill on the front bumper?
Make it like a matte black color i think?
Idk. noob talk. I got that mod bug itch so im all over the place.

Did you try plastidip, couldn't tell by your post
At least that'll give you a rough idea how a matte finish will look on the grill.
