headlight not working after hard rain

well last weekend i decided to jump the gun and do a little headlight modding, to my 08 g37.
i painted my housing matt black, replace the stock lense with the tsx, and replaced the turning and parking lights to leds.
the problem is that it rained extremely hard down today, and my drivers side HID headlight is no longer working. im also seeing some moisture on the inside of the headlight, and on the HID lense.
i was considering taking out the headlights and checking the wiring.
if no luck then i suppose i would try replacing the HID bulbs... and obviously resealing the lights so it doesnt happen again...
can i get some suggestions or ideas? im going to be really heartbroken if i have to buy some new stock headlights

you posted it on the right section.

what still works and what doesn't?

#1 check bulb
#2 check fuse
#3 check ballast(this happened to me once on a friends car, it gotten wet and a trick was to open up the ballast housing and blow dry all the moisture out and try again)

as of now, all of the turn signals, sidemarkers, (replaced those with LEDs) and fog lights work.
the passenger side HID light works aswell
the only thing that doesnt work is the drivers side HID
As a precaution i also put my car cover on, as it is supposed to rain this hard for the rest of the week :/

so if its the moisture, then would the light go back to normal if it dries out by time?
im just curious to know if theres a way to prevent this from happening again once i find out the issue

Yes, most more than likely the water got into the ballast. You should hurry up and remove your ballast and dry it up. Do not try turning on your headlights as this may cause even more damage if water is inside. There's silicone everywhere inside the ballast thats protecting the electronics but is not 100% waterproof. I would remove everything ASAP and seal up the headlight properly while you're at it drying up the ballast.

Good luck!

by the time i got home from college for the weekend both headlights stopped working.
when i got the headlights out i blow dried everything out and resealed eveyrthing from the outside aswell, there was a LOT of water in the ballasts,
I got the passenger side light to work, but the drivers side would only work sometimes when i played with the high beams.
So i blow dried the HID components, and turned the high beams on for about 10 minutes to heat up the housing. it all works fine now but when i turn on the lights for the first time the left one takes a moment longer to light up
dont think thatll be a problem though
took about 7 hrs in total for a thorough job
thanks for the help
