Is this a used, or bad bulb?

I have the same problem w/ my HID bulb, except mine is on the driver side. I have to toggle the lights several times before the bulb fires up. I don't want to waste my money and time buying more aftermarket garbage and would like to buy the damn thing one more time and be done with it. I've also read on this forum that the 2011 G has a finicky ballast. I know that Philips Ultinons and Osrams are both very high quality bulbs, but can anybody verify that they do in fact work with the finicky ballast of a 2011 G without the need to toggle them several times before they fire up?

I suggest you talk to whoever you bought your bulb from. I worked with the company I bought mine from and they shipped me a brand new replacement bulb free of charge and I no longer have the issue. Good Luck

The bulbs look like fake ultinons. Be careful. 90% of the Philips bulbs online are mostly chinese fakes.

The bulb was fine and good from DiodeDynamics, a forum vendor on this site. The issue has been resolved by a bulb replacement a while ago. We are good to go.
