What should not be painted in headlights?

This has probably been covered but my searching skills must have went to crap becauser I can't find any of the old threads I was looking for. I'd like to know what parts of the headlights should not be painted. I'd also like the reasoning for this if there is one.

I see that some leave parts of the headlights chrome (to reflect the light) and other paint everything. Do the foglights become pretty much unused if the reflecter is painted?

There was some awesome pictures on here before with every part of the headlight painted a different color. Does anyone know where I can find those pictures?

dont paint the lens.....thats a bad idea.

other than that you can paint whatever you want. theres no light reflecting in the chrome.

The turn signal housings arguably reflect but I painted mine and just offset it with brighter bulbs.

Is this the fog light? Would this be considered a reflector?

Here the tip of my finger is placed where the bulb would be located.

do not paint the crome reflector for the fog light bulb. the button looking piece infront of your finger reflects the light back at the crome and that shines it foward.

If you intend to use you for lights then I would not paint the reflective chrome piece. Otherwise everything can be painted with the exception of your projector lenses of course.

Right.

But I know a lot of guys on here do. Do those of you that have everything painted use your fog lights? If so, how bright are they?

Look for 180custom threads. they are the ones who have the thread with all of the different parts colored differently. Good luck!

Yes I am. Actually, just getting back at it. New wheels (well used but new to us) are on there way. After that, headlights are the next big thing.
