Smoking tails DISASTER

I smoked my headlight using VHT nightshades and really did a crap job. Its not terrible but it looks cheap. I was wondering how easy it would be to take off the paint using a paint thinner or some other product and would that damage the tails. I did not sand the tails @ all, probably the reason it looks so bad, but i feel like since i didnt sand the paint will just come off if i use the correct product. please help

Try wet sanding it then polish out with rubbing compound. It always looks ugly before these crutcial steps. Post pics so we have a better idea of how bad it is

The biggest problem was that the finish was not glossy. I will post pis ASAP.

Don't worry about the finish use 6 coats of clear

No dripping @ all. its just heavy in areas and looks uneven and not glossy. I think i used the wrong clear coat. Im gonna try them again this week. I dont want to sand them though, will i still get a good result

You have to spray evenly. Alsonotice you can be liable for a major llaw suit.... Someonne rear ends you with smoked tails, it is actually your fault

Yes, as mentioned in another thread, the possibility of smoked tails being the cause of an accident should not be overlooked.
