Question regarding paintjob prices...

Hey guys....

I just have a general question regarding paintjobs...

Will the price matter (as in cheaper), if one was to just change the color of the car to a darker shade?

Lets say from a silver or grey, to a darker shade of grey.

Needs more info.. Different paints cost different amount. Are you talking about painting the whole car or just a piece of it?

Example: Pearl white paint is more expensive than a paint bright white.

I don't really mean the cost of paint... I know pearls and metallics will cost more than basic paints.

I'm talking about the whole process of prepping and painting the car.
I would think that changing the color of the whole car from black to white or grey to red or blue to red would cost more.

Lets say you wanted to change your PG to a tad darker shade of grey. Would that cost less than if you were to change from PG to Red or something?

Exact same color can be a little cheaper if you don't want things like door sills, inside of trunk, and under the hood repainted again because it's the same color. Any color change will be the same price whether it's similar to the original color or completely different.

^^What BB said. Because prep work and every other process are still the same. And you have to pay for the new color no matter if it is a totally different color or the same.
