Tail Light Film - Good Idea?

Hey Guys

Check this out:

Pro Taillight Tint Film Overlay Smoke G37 Sedan 09-2011 - eBay (item 310287319809 end time Mar-12-11 1052 PST)

I have read a lot on this forum about how the experts here like to paint the lights themselves for a better quality smoke... What are your thoughts on buying the quicker easier solution of the film/overlay?

I think the majority of the people here go with Blue Batmobile Overlays rather than paint. I know 180, post above me, does an amazing job with lights though. The only thing with overlays is they can be a pain to install, so a professional shop is recommended. The good thing about overlays is that you can remove them down the line.

Another word of advice. Don't "browse" eBay for car parts. 95% of the stuff is cheap and home made. If you know what you are searching for such as name brand parts then ok, but just typing G37 and then browsing is a no no. IMO of course.

I'd paint them IMO you can choose the darkness in each coat and if you use vht nite shades it's 100% removable with laquer thinner, vinyl when done right
Looks good but a lot of the times has ripples from stretching it.

I've had Andy's overlays for over 3 years and they're still looking great. Of course, an installer is just as important as the product itself, so make sure you find a reputable one.
