Do i need to buy ballast also along with new d2S and h1 bulbs?

My friend told me i don't need any ballast because there are already ballasts with the original lights. I want to do the correct thing and not have my bulb burnt out. Advice needed. Thanks.

Yep, our cars already come from factory with HID ballasts.

Well if you're getting an H1 HID bulb, then you'll need the entire HID kit. For the low beam (D2S) all you need to do is swap the bulb w/ the existing one.

When installing H1 HID kit, its easier to remove the headlight so you have more room to play with, otherwise you risk breaking the socket which the clip goes into to secure the bulb in place, it's a very tight fit with most aftermarket bulbs so be careful when pushing that clip back in place.
