Do you guys think it's going to work?
I believe the IPL Gs has real aluminum trim instead of the fake plastic ones we get for our cars.
Anyone thought about buying those and installing on the older models?
I wonder if it makes a huge difference.

 

I dont know what youre talking about, but the aluminum trim in the 07+ sedans and 05+ G35 Coupes and G37 coupes is 100% real aluminum.

 

ok, i believe you are right about the front panels and some of the door trims.
But i could've swear our door handle is not real aluminum....Because I had its paint chipping on me

 

hmmm. mines full of scratches but no paint chipping

 

the trim is different in the size of them from 2009, 2007-2008 is different, and 2010-2011 are different....color and the size -- design is the same

 

I have a 2010 G coupe so I guess the question now is..

assuming IPL G coupe has real aluminum door handles, can i stick them onto the 2010 coupe.

I still need to confirm if the current door handles r aluminum or not.

the coupe aluminum trim is different from the 2010 model-2011.... 2008-2009 were brushed

even the convertible silk obi trim is different

 

I am going to dealer and hopefully get the door handles replaced under warranty

 

IPL has no different trim than any other 2010+ G37 coupe. The only thing changed is the pattern on the aluminum from 2008-2009 to 2010+. 2010+ gets "shodo" pattern while the 08 and 09 had "washi" pattern. Way to minor of a difference to swap out.

 

Right but 08 coupes had plastic painted silver door pulls then 09 they changed them to washi aluminum. I know because I changed mine out after they got scratched up.

 

I have an 2010 and they are still plastic painted silver door pulls!..

I took a few picture. Both of these are from my car.
The 1st one is my plastic door handle.
The 2nd one is my real alum. trim, shodo? obi silk? (notice the paint chip on the plastic one)

There is a big difference.
