fix bumper holes

read a recent thread about hide-away license plates and am looking to try it. would be great for photoshoots and when parked, but also keeps me from worrying about not having a front plate when i need one since the law in NJ is that it must be equipped.
i have a 2010g37x coupe. not sport. im still pretty sure they drill into the front bumper to install the license plate bracket right? how do i FIX this once i take it off? are there bumper plugs or anything or do i have to take it to a shop and have it professionally fixed? looking for the cheapest solution that looks clean

I had the same issues with drill holes. Went to Home Depot and bought some screw hole plugs ($.70, plastic). Cleaned up the screw holes with a dremel since it was a little rough. Then painted the plug ends with some touch up paint ($14 at dealer) and popped them in after they dried. Its far and away the cheapest solution with the best results. I've had mine on for about a month and gone through multiple long trips and about 6 washes with not chipping or fading of them. Works great.

Went and took some shots of them, hopefully they suffice with the iPhone cam. Pay no attention to the bug guts, she needs to be cleaned.

CDONNS, thanks for the pics!
i think it looks pretty clean. and it must be a whole lot cheaper than getting it filled/repainted
have you ever thought about shaving the plugs down? would that help make it look more flush? idk just a thought.
franky2222, how much did you get yours repainted for? im trying to see what the contrast in pricing would be.

Painted plugs are the best you can do short of having the whole bumper filled and painted, looks allright...

It'd probably be possible, but I'm fine with how it looks now. Plus if I ever want to take them out I don't want them shaved flush, it'd be kind of tough to remove them.

to cdonns, did you ever have a license plate bracket on that bumper? If so, when you removed it, did it leave marks?
