It’s easy of course to make fun of the needle sweep. But when my wife and I first saw it at a Lexus dealer in 2006 we were impressed at its futuristic concept. We bought the car, and due to its inherent quality and dealer service, we were not disappointed.

its not that exotic - had it on a 2005 Subaru.

You can make it sweep, just provide a start up voltage to the needles with a programmable timer. I would just be worried of the car's ecu freaking out if it sees the needle getting power from a different source.

I may try this on my project car just to see how it looks.
