Plastidip Front Grille Question

Hey everyone, since my car is leased, i dont want to take apart anything near the engine area cuz it might become loose afterwards. I was just wondering if it is bad to just spray the grille while it is on the car. If some paint goes thru and dries, will it affect the filter behind it? Thankss =)

you'll be fine taking the grill off and painting it... screws/pins will not come loose, and on your lease return they will not be so picky about that, have some fun

or you can get another grill for about $120 and paint it and replace at the time you are returning the car.

I've had mine for a while now and it's gone through torrential rains, got blasted by loose gravel on the freeway and several washes. It looks just as good as the day i sprayed it on.

Perhaps if you wipe it with cloth it catches lint? I only use MF or a Chamois to dry my car, so lint is not an issue in my case.

By the way, OP, i painted mine with the grille attached.

If you do it right you'll minimize the overspray going to the radiator. This thing sprays much differently than spray can paint.

I don't like the look of the matte black on the BO... maybe if you clear coat it, but I think it would crack.

Y'all can get the Perfomix F-799 Top Coat, made specifically to go on top of Plasti-Dip.

^and it won't crack?
