Help I Painted Stillen Splitter but.. it is all Bent and Wavy
I'm sorry but that splitter will never be right again. They definetly baked it or used an IR lamp on it to speed the curing process of the paint/clear. I have the same splitter and so I'm familar with the density of the urethane it is made from. Maybe if it were laid flat and exposed to high temps similar to what the body shop used it might relax but I wouldnt hold my breath.

He also told me it shouldn't be that big of a problem as well.
I hope it just comes back to normal shape so i can put them on.
So Yogregb.
Do I tell them to put it in hot oven or something and make it flat again?
Urethane components can reshape themselves being placed in areas like the sun, unless the shop did too much damage.
It's virtually impossible to tell anything with the photo provided, and I've requested a picture with the part on the ground after being in the sun for a while, which the shop recommended and I concurred with.
I think it's a little early to make assumptions..
I've been in PM communication for days now, and am awaiting info just as this thread is.

I haven't been to the paint shop since I got mad and just left.
They probably still should have it, and I will go see what happened to it since they said they put on the flat surface for days now.
I've been busy and I will be free tomorrow so I will be able to update what happend.
If it still is in weird shape, I will ask them to replace it. but probably they won't so
It is just unlucky me

But I think picture kinda explains. It looks almost the same as in that picture on the ground too, The front part, where it shows its all wavy, and part for mounting is also wavy.
These two part are both pointing at different directions so...
I doubt it its gonna come back.
But I will let you know what happens tomorrow.

not perfectly.. you can't really notice it but if you try to, you can see still wavy. So I purposely parked out on the sun, may be it might help..
JOSH! Mine, the installer said it was not made out of uthrene. They said it was fiber glass, when they tried to screw it in, they could notice it was more like fiber glass.. did i get the wrong one?
The installer in the shop did many stillen splitter before, and mine was different from them...
