Washi Trim door piece... need confirmation

The piece of washi trim that goes along the door, perpendicular to the grab handle... does it have a name?

Is it the piece referred to as #5 on this diagram?

Referred to on Infinitipartsusa.com as "W/o wood Right - Coupe, convertible - Coupe, convertible... $34.95"

Has anyone removed this piece? Is it as easy to replace as the door handle?

My girlfriend etched the **** out of it with her purse, and I just don't think I'm going to get over it.

Looks cheap enough to replace, if that's really it.

Thanks.

It is not plastic. It is actually aluminum. The only plastic piece is the actual grab handle on the 08s.

When scratched, the stuff that shows up behind it is white. Looks like plastic to me!

The washi trim is solid aluminum. At lest the parts I replaced are. If you want to see cheap plastic parts, look at the trim in the 1st generation G.

Yes it easily comes off. I did a write up on it at one time. There are seven or eight screws holding the "spear" to the door panel from the back side.
