Nice! You could close the dome cap over it, I'm assuming? I'm this close from ripping mine off. lol

Hey guys, I also did this mod.
It was pretty simple as everyone described.

The door light was hard to take off for me too, but I just used a plier with a paper around it and it was a breeze to take it off.
The licence plate lights are also easy just need to unclip it and twist the connector out.

The V-Leds are pretty nice, +1 for them!

Don't mean to thread jack man. I just know everyone loves to see pics to compare.
Glove compartment.
Before:

After:

Pics were taken w an iPhone so in person the LED looks much clearer and brighter and stock looks much dimmer and yellow.

I found a that a 194 bulb was too dim for the trunk that's why I went with a 921 bulb (see the first page of this thread for pic & type). I must say the 4_LED high power you used is pretty bright.

Yes, I originally had the 5 SMT like I said, but it was so dim...couldnt see much in there. I'm selling my extra trunk LED in the classifieds if you'd be interested.

First lighting upgrade

I did my first LED swap yesterday using lights recommended by GMan...I did map lights, doors and will do tag lights once the temp drops below 95 this evening. The wife loves the change especially with our night out last night. Even for all thumbs, this was a piece of cake.

Reverse lights are coming next. Thanks Gman

You are very welcome ..... when I started there were so many posts about all sorts of LED's, etc ...though I would try and make one concise thread. Glad it was of help.

The LED you used for the trunk, how do you think it would be as a running (aka parking) light? Too bright? Is that a heat sync around it between the LED's and base?

Here the simple illustration in the Owner's Manual that makes it pretty clear. Just go easy, and preferably use a plastic trim tool or wrap something soft around the end of a screwdriver blade (as shown).
