Was the car used?

Maybe the prior owner debadged it and tried to put the emblems back on himself.

No. I bought the car brand spanking new.

No reason whatsoever to believe there was any body work, etc. Just must have been put on crooked/ dislodged afterward.

Will most likely remove the I N F I N I T I this weekend, but also considering the following- has anyone moved the mount Fuji logo down closer to the vertical center of the trunk? It looks too high once you remove the letters beneath it.

The dealer refused to give me the emblems under warranty (free of charge) unless I let them do the install.

When the tech told me that they use a heat gun to remove the old emblems, I just shook my head... the only reason one would do this is to speed up the process. Fishing line & good gone is 100x safer and take at most a few minutes longer. I have serious reservations about these guys replacing my emblems. Not to mention that this service department are absolute a**holes.

I'm going to write them an email about the **** service department they're running (even aside from this particular incident). The muppets that work there are rude and obnoxious. If they still refuse to accommodate me, I will certainly spread word that their service/parts depts are ****. On the other hand, the salesman is good and I've already recommended him to a friend.
