G37 Seat Issue

Solved!!!

So I have seen countless members in here posting pics and making complaints about the leather in their seats bubbling and stretching, and I haven't really seen any solutions posted, so I thought I would share mine.

First off, the G is an amazing machine but Nissan/Infiniti should be ashamed of this and they need to make this problem in their future models.

In the meantime however, there is a way to mitigate this issue so it will not get any worse, or if you are a new G owner and don't have this issue yet, this is something you want to do right away to avoid what is an inevitable problem.

My solution....I got an obusforme seat cushion to sit on rather than sitting directly on the leather seat. Not only does it save your seat, but I actually find it even more comfortable to sit on.

Anyway here is a pic of my drivers seat at 26,000 Kms or 16,000 Miles.

And here is a link to the seat cushion on ebay...

If it was the right size to get me off the metal bars that stick into my legs and back I would get one right away.

While the cushion looks nice, it'll make me feel like I'm sitting in a booster seat for babies.

Again....and again....and again. The issue will come back a few weeks after you get it replaced.

I don't really see the point in that.

If that were the only solution (and it is not a solution) why does my seat look brand new still?

Agreed...but the problem is there and this is one way of eliminating the problem.

Actually it doesnt feel like that at all. Plus the G has 8 way adjustable seats if you feel like you are to high.

When you get out of your ride, just put the cushion on the floor and your seat will not have any stretching or bubbling.

Anyway, for giving people some helpful advice on how to eliminate a problem with our car there doesn't seem to be any appreciation being put forth.

+++111. Now that's funny. It would seem to me that this is what you would feel with a wad of memory foam under your ****. My seat is on the floor and my head still touches the roof. If I put the foam under, I'd have neck cramps from holding my head to one side or the other. Nice idea, not. We are appreciative of ideas that work. Next thing you know you'll be saying ".. and if you order by midnight, we'll throw in some ginsu knives" or "... you'll get two for the price of one" or "...and that's not all folks..."

We definitely appreciate it. Or at least I do. I think it's good that you're taking the proactive stance vs letting the dealer fix it, which is the lazier route. But some people feel like a 40K car should not require the driver to do any work. Just a matter of what you're ok with, in principle and in aesthetic.

Here's my recommendation:
